5 Natural Ways to Get Rid of Scars
Scars are never any woman's friend. Many of us however have had to deal with scars or are even still dealing with them. If you are among the careful 0.005% of women who have managed to walk through life without even little accidents around the home, I bet you'd still have stretch marks or blackheads or even scars from the notorious acne or pimples.
Many women try to get rid of scars with over-the-counter products and creams and just about anything anybody claims works. In all honesty, they work, they truly work but the problem here is that the results are rarely lasting. Also, our skins have a way of overly depending on these products so much that they find it difficult to do without them. If you are familiar with them, you would know what I am talking about. But hey, there are very natural ways to get rid of these scars. So, hope is not lost. While these natural ways are effective, they are not as fast as the unnatural ways. You have to exercise a little bit of patience with them but yes, they are sure to work.
1. Potato juice
The juice from potato is a good way to reduce the appearance of scars on your skin. It naturally reduces dark discoloration. Many people use potatoes to also get rid of dark armpits. Make sure that the potato you are getting is fresh or organic. Peel off the outer skin and rub it on the problem area. Let us sit for 10-20 minutes. You can then afterwards wash it off with lukewarm water.
Another alternative is to try and grate so that it is easy to squeeze out the juice. Then apply on the scar.
2. Aloe Vera
Aloe Vera is a naturally excellent way of dealing with scars. You can get them prepackaged in form of creams at the pharmacy or beauty shops but it's better to use the gel from the leaf directly. Many of what brands claim are in Aloe Vera mixtures aren't what are there so to be sure, use a fresh Aloe Vera leaf. You can plant Aloe Vera in your house. It is a rugged plant with little maintenance. All you need is humus soil and water for everyday wetting.
So, pick up a fresh Aloe Vera leaf, open it up to expose the gel an rub it on the scar. Let it sit in it for 10 minutes thereabout for maximum effectiveness. Wash off later.
3. Baking Soda
This is rich in sodium bicarbonate and it can help to naturally get rid of scars. Baking soda because of its exfoliating properties can also help to reduce the appearance of scars.
Mix a few teaspoons of baking soda with water to form a thick paste. Massage into skin where the scars are present. Leave it on the scar for a minute or two so that the soda cleanses pores and prevent further blemishes. You can now wash it off after yo are done. Use this natural treatment of scars every other day and watch your scar disappear gradually.
4. Lemon juice
Lemon contains alpha hydroxy acids. The juice from lemon is an excellent natural way of reducing the appearance of scars until it completely fades away. Lemon juice can also be used on dark armpits because of its ability to reduce dark discoloration. It is also a good exfoliant. Care must be taken however to avoid direct exposure to sunlight after applying lemon juice because it makes your skin excessively receptive to UV rays.
Squeeze out the lemon juice and rub on the scar. You can dilute the juice with a little water if your skin is sensitive. Lemon is acidic and so care must be taken to wash off too. Like many people do, never leave lemon juice on your skin, wash off after usage.
5. Raw honey
Raw honey can also be used to fade scars. It naturally serves as a moisturizer. This makes it an effective option in the treatment of wounds. Raw honey is also useful on stimulating tissue regeneration so scars fade off easily to expose new skin with honey.
Apply honey to the surface of the scar and rub on it for two to three minutes. Wash off with warm water. Another option is to mix raw honey and baking soda into a paste. Massage on the scare for some minutes. Put a hot washcloth over the area and then wipe clean the paste off the problem area. This mixture of is also very helpful in exfoliating facial skin.
