How to Stay Healthy During the Holidays
It's that time of the year again and we are eating and drinking and forgetting those numbers. It's not yet Christmas, at least, we have a few more days to Christmas and I am already eating and eating. shame. Just yesterday, I called myself to order (hey, do you call yourself?). Weird! It was enough. I needed to take a break.
Eating excessively and staying low when it comes to exercise and activity are most common during the holidays. Holidays are perfect in their own right but we tend to overindulge and forget the good stuff we have been practicing from the beginning. So, why don't we call ourselves to some order.
Do everything in moderation and you don't have to worry after everything is over. If you are going to indulge in unhealthy foods, by all means, do. But be moderate. A cup is enough, a jar is too big. A spoon is enough, a bowl is ridiculous.
When you drink more water, you eat less. Take fluids instead of junks. You'll thereby have less space for irrelevancies in your stomach.
Have a food journal
This is such an intentional process - getting a food journal but it's worth it. Writing what you take in and their calories beside is a fun way to caution yourself. You can have a food journal buddy, to make it all the more lively.
What do you want to eat for dinner? Will you eat at a friend's party ? Never go to that party on an empty stomach too. Eat a little and have a little more space to eat lightly at the outing.
